Watching this three-minute trailer, which likely amounts to about a thirtieth of the entire film, I'm impressed with the transparency of the Transformers franchise. They are going back to making movies to sell toys, the original purpose of the Transformer films. This origin story about Optimus Prime and Megatron back on Cybertron is just an excuse to push some plastic. And for that, I cannot fault Hasbro, Paramount, or the voice talent like Keegan-Michael Kay, Scar Jo, and Hemsworth. I will even give Industrial Light & Magic a pass for the AI-generated animation. But I will not be in attendance.
